PVmed announces its radiology solutions are to be integrated into Philips AI Platform. Philips IntelliSpace AI Workflow Suite is a solution launched on CHINC (China Information Network Conference) held by the National Institute of Hospital Administration at August 21. In addition to this integration, PVmed’s radiation oncology contouring solution had been selected as the only third-party module in the IntelliSpace Discovery of Philips, which is a platform for AI research and development. The in-depth collaboration between PVmed and Philips is expected to boost the efficiency of the radiology department.

Philips IntelliSpace AI Workflow Suite is an ecosystem covering the whole process of radiology, from appointment reservation, screening to follow-up care, which enables the radiologists to take advantage of the capabilities of AI applications to deliver optimum care to the patients. Since the medial image data is explosive increasing these years, solutions to release the burden of radiologist workload has become a must. PVmed has been dedicated to medical imaging for years and developed several deep-learning-powered products to assist in the radiology department for better imaging quality and precise detection. Solutions shows as follows:

- Virtual Filter: It is a technique used to improve the quality of images collected from the digital radiography machines without the filters. Normally, the clinicians will place a physical filter between the window and the patient to attenuate the soft x-ray photons which can add to scatter and contribute to poor image quality affecting the reading. Also, the physical filter cannot be placed for movement-limited patients scanned by portable DR due to the difficulty in radiation dose calculation and beam alignment. By adopting this solution, it not only can contribute to better image quality but also benefit patients with special situations.

- Low-dose Enhancement: A solution to capture reasonable quality images with a lower dose. Although a higher dosage can bring more clear view images and is much easier for radiologists to read the scans, higher dosage can also lead to higher toxicity. Not mentioning the fact that not all the hospitals can offer low-dose scan since it adds difficulties to the readings, which require additional experiences for the radiologists. The low-dose enhancement service is a choice for limiting radiation exposure in children, teens, and young adults whose bodies are still developing while not affecting the images reading.

- DR One-shot Dual-energy Subtraction Imaging: A DR imaging solution to either remove the bone structures or extract them on chest DR imaging, which is usually done by regular dual-energy subtraction. Numerous researches show that 95% of missing lesions result from overlying bones (i.e. ribs, collarbones, scapula) which affects the image interpretation. This solution can empower the regular devices to achieve the result of obtaining the chest image with total bone removal and improve the diagnostic accuracy.

- AI-assisted Diagnosis System: A Chest CT diagnosis solution to automatically locate the lesions (e.g. Nodules), calculate relevant metrics, predict malignancy risk, and then generate customized and structured reports. This can minimize the risks of missing lesions and offer more rapid and accurate detection.

From clinical diagnosis to research purpose, PVmed has shown its potential in the healthcare industry. Exposure to those reputable portals is only a part of its journey. The company’s big aim is to make every patient receive not only equal care but also the optimum care with AI solutions. That is what PVmed has been making every endeavour to accomplish it all these years.
